Restored the Study

For Individuals or Small Groups

In-person Group for Illinois Valley Women

A new season of Hope is here! This women’s Bible study is designed specifically to help you grow in Biblical wisdom & discernment as you navigate difficult relationships in a God-honoring way.

Spouses aren’t the only ones who challenge us; sometimes it’s another family member, a co-worker, or even a friend. Difficult relationships come in all forms; sometimes they are abusive, and sometimes they fall under the label of toxic or negative. Regardless of the severity, these relationships can negatively impact our faith.

Group open to any woman18+ regardless of church affiliation who wants to learn Biblical principles and grow in fellowship with other women around the common theme of developing healthier relationships.

También podemos ofrecer servicios de traducción al español y un grupo de trabajo independiente con un facilitador nativo de habla hispana, si fuera necesario; puede indicarlo en el formulario de inscripción. We can also provide Spanish translation services and a separate breakout group with a native Spanish-speaking facilitator, if needed; you can indicate this on the registration form.

Start Holding Biblical Boundaries & Healing from Harmful Relationships

I invite you to participate in Restored the Study: Six Session Bible Study on Discernment, Boundaries, and Freedom in Christ, a companion study to Restoring the Years the Locusts Have Eaten.

While some people are outright abusive and harmful to us, others are simply toxic, negatively impacting our hearts and minds. Both can distort truth, impede our faith, and damage our relationship with Jesus. This study covers both healing from abuse and how to biblically manage close-proximity relationships with those who continue in unrepentant, sinful behavior towards us.

Many of us have been fed the lie that to be Christ-like, we must be weak, passive doormats for unrepentant family members at best, or victims of predators at worst. Boundaries and personal autonomy are absolutely Biblical!
In my exploration of God’s Word, I find language of running races and winning battles; power-filled metaphors given to equip us for a victorious Christian walk. I want to encourage others to decipher between the ingrained church culture and biblical truth.
This material is best suited for those who are:
READERS:
  • Devoted to cultivating a deeper relationship with Jesus.
  • Committed to exploring God’s Word, and open to unlearning lies and false doctrine.
  • In a group setting: Able to maturely and respectfully explore challenging theological points with others with a mutual expectation of accountability, privacy, and grace.

SMALL GROUP LEADERS:

  • Possess a fullness of peace such that disagreement does not turn into discord. Disagreement does not diminish one’s opinion; it merely points to our humanity and the reality that not a single one of us is always correct. Agree to disagree and move on to the next point of discussion.
  • Adept at holding boundaries within the group so all participants feel welcomed and heard. As the leader, you will bring the group back on topic and keep discussions flowing.
  • Dedicated to your own healing so you can help others grow in their faith and heal from abuse and trauma.

Participant Testimonials from In-Person Groups

“When I heard of this study I was immediately interested. Women need to be heard and offered God’s Words of healing and love. We all have a story and if we share, we can be encouraged by others compassion, learning we are not alone. Biblical truths and self reflection were extremely encouraging.”

“I loved the study.”

“I really enjoyed this group and the women in it. Thank you Leah for your dedication and commitment in helping women see their worth by showing them how to grow in their faith.”

“This women’s group was everything I wanted and more. It opened my eyes to so much more than just healing from an abusive relationship. Be ready to dig deep into scripture and form trusting relationships with other women. If you’re afraid to share, don’t be. There’s never any pressure to talk and you will never be put on the spot. I highly recommend this group for anyone yearning for emotional healing.”

“It helped me to realize that an abuser is not just physical abuse. I know that I’m not alone and God loves me.”

“It was excellent!”

“Wonderful bible study that created a safe, supportive small group environment. The study is well written, easy to follow, with minimal “homework” and thought-provoking questions that made me not only honestly think, but try to apply what I read to life situations.”
